Requesting a Merchant Center review after a misrepresentation suspension (and avoiding a cool-down)

Updated November 2026 · Based on Google's public Merchant Center help pages

The most expensive mistake after a misrepresentation suspension is requesting a review too early. Reviews aren't unlimited, and failed ones can lock you out for a while.

How reviews work

According to Google's review help page:

The cool-down period

If your issues aren't resolved by the second review attempt, Google says a one-week cool-down may begin:

Before you click "Request review"

  1. Fix everything you can find on the site, not just the first thing.
  2. Make your business details match on your site, in Merchant Center and in your store platform. See business and contact information.
  3. Make your return, shipping and terms pages specific and consistent. See return policy requirements.
  4. Check prices, availability and shipping costs on product pages against your feed.
  5. Complete any identity or business verification Merchant Center is asking for.
  6. Write down what you changed and when. If there's a field to explain, describe the changes factually.

Use a cool-down well

If you're already in one, treat it as audit time. Go page by page through the site, compare everything to Merchant Center, and fix what you find so the next review is your strongest attempt.
